Topping the Rankings

The Challenge

The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) wanted to become the world’s most respected, science-backed resource for sleep-related needs and questions. The not-for-profit just couldn’t rest until it launched a successful consumer facing website—and it tapped Masthead to make the vision a reality.

The Solution

To reach people where they live—and sleep— Masthead created a custom Masthead to help NSF launch a new online lifestyle magazine, Sleep.org. In less than three months, the team conceptualized, created, and published more than 250 articles, slideshows, and quizzes covering a wide variety of sleep- and lifestyle-related topics.

In the past four years, Masthead has created more than 1,000 articles for Sleep.org—as well as hundreds of articles for its sister site, sleepfoundation.org. The site is now, arguably, the top sleep resource on the web.

The Results

Organic search traffic has more than doubled each year from 2015 to 2020.

Sleep.org wins the top search position (#1) for nearly 2,400 keyword terms.

The site wins more than 1,000 Featured Snippet positions on Google.

Sleep.org outranks competitors in the space for tens of thousands of keyword terms.
